Volunteer Responsibilities

Role: Regular Volunteer

Duties:

• Sort donations to bins as labeled

• Hang current season clothing to temporary racks

• Bag next season using sealable bags; move to appropriate warehouse location

• Sort hangers

• Move current season clothing from temporary racks to fill-in racks by size

• Assist store-front personnel with client interactions as requested

• Assist store-front personnel with client childcare as requested

• Assist store-front personnel with bringing items from warehouse to storefront as needed (hygiene kits, diapers, quilts, shoes, etc.)

• Assist store-front personnel with restocking inventory as requested (shoes, clothing, etc.)

• Periodically verify store-front racks are in order and that empty hangers are removed

• Ensure toy room is in order and stocked

• Ensure houseware room is in order and stocked

Role: Sorting Room Lead

Duties:

• Duties assigned to Regular Volunteers

• Oversee Casual Volunteer pool (HandsOn Atlanta/walk-ins), including:

• Initial training of “how we sort” and “how we hang”

• Assist volunteers in the handling of questionable donations

• At end of shift, ensure that sorting room is in-order and ready for the next work day, and that the whiteboard is updated with any information that will assist the next group to arrive

Duties:

• Duties assigned by Logistics Manager, including:

• Apartment setups

• Donation pickups

• Large-scale warehouse projects
